Hybrid heuristic-waterfilling game theory approach in MC-CDMA resource allocation

چکیده
This paper discusses the power allocation with fixed rate constraint problem in multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) networks, that has been solved through game theoretic perspective by the use of an iterative waterfilling algorithm (IWFA). The problem is analyzed under various interference density configurations, and its reliability is studied in terms of solution existence and uniqueness. Moreover, numerical results reveal the approach shortcoming, thus a new method combining swarm intelligence and IWFA is proposed to make practicable the use of game theoretic approaches in realistic MC-CDMA systems scenarios. The contribution of this paper is twofold: i) provide a complete analysis for the existence and uniqueness of the game solution, from simple to more realist and complex interference scenarios; ii) propose a hybrid power allocation optimization method combining swarm intelligence, game theory and IWFA. To corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed method, an outage probability analysis in realistic interference scenarios, and a complexity comparison with the classical IWFA are presented.

Multi-carrier CDMA technology is a very attractive multiple access technique for next generation wireless communication systems. It combines the advantages of both Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) for high data rate transmission. However, interference noise is considered as a major challenge for MC-CDMA systems and significantly affects ...

We characterize the optimum power control policies that achieve arbitrary rate tuples on the boundary of the capacity region of a power controlled, code division multiple access (CDMA) system in a fading channel. We propose a “generalized” waterfilling approach, and provide an iterative algorithm that solves for the optimum power allocation policy, for a given arbitrary rate tuple on the bounda...
متن کاملThe Waterfilling Game-Theoretical Framework for Distributed Wireless Network Information Flow
We present a general game-theoretical framework for the resource allocation problem in the downlink scenario of distributed wireless small-cell networks, where multiple access points (APs) or small base stations send independent coded network information to multiple mobile terminals (MTs) through orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) channels. In such a game-theoretic study, the cen...
متن کاملResource Allocation in Relay-assisted DS/CDMA Interference Channels: a Game-Theoretic Approach
The issue of resource allocation for MSE minimization in a DS/CDMA amplify-and-forward relayassisted interference channel is addressed in this paper. The resource allocation process is assumed to take place in a hierarchical way. First, the relay announces his amplifyand-forward matrix, and then the multiple access users non-cooperatively react to the relay’s choice. This process is modeled by ...
